News ArchiveGwalia Cottages PreservedConservation work to the cottage of Burglar Bill is now completed and work on other cottages have started. Conservation work on Burglar Bill’s cottage was recently completed and work started on the Shift Boss’s House and Unnamed Camp. Conservation work to the Function House and Major’s Boarding House will start later in May 2015.
When work to these buildings are completed it will bring the total to 7 cottages that underwent conservation work to stabilize it and make it water-tight and secure. Lotterywest Conserving Cultural Heritage Grants and funding from the Shire of Leonora has made work possible. Elaine Labuschagne, Manager Economics & Heritage Services from the Shire of Leonora is project managing all the conservation work to the cottages and works closely with the builders. « Return to news page |
