Lot 1132
Tony Baletich’s Camp is located in the centre of Lot 1132, between Tower and Manning streets, adjacent to De Rubeis’ Camp.
The cottage was constructed in 1930/31 with George Yovich listed as the first owner in 1931. In 1952/53 Antonio (Tony) Baletich was listed in the Rate Books as the owner. His name appeared in the Rate Books for the last time in 1965/66.
Initially part of a series of squatter camps located on a Gold Mining Lease rather than Crown Land, the camp was moved from the Gwalia Block in the 1980s and restored in 1995.
The camp has a perimeter fence of vertical sheets of corrugated iron and an outhouse in the southwest corner of the yard.
The single gabled roof cottage has a skillion (lean-to) extension off one side and an uncovered back verandah.
