Lot 1132 Kane Street
The Sly Grog Shop is a traditional Goldfields vernacular house with a two roomed frontage and a break pitch front and rear skillion (lean-to) off the gable roof. All verandahs are enclosed and there is evidence of several extensions.
The house was relocated in 1985 from the Gwalia Block when the open cut mine expanded. It is located south of the squatter settlement on Lot 1132, backing onto Kane Street.
It was restored in 1995/96 during the Adopt-A-Cottage project to represent a “Sly Grog Shop” - a place that sold alcohol illegally.
